I must confess, I discovered this CD while perusing the section called "Naked People On The Cover." After reading the comments about the CD, I felt compelled to listen to the samples. That was all that was needed for me to immediately buy the disk. I have had the same reaction to this CD that I have had to other discoveries I've made over the years, like Fiona Apple, Coldplay, and The Reverend Billy C. Wirtz. I play the album over and over again, shutting my eyes and turning the outside world off, totally grooving on the music. This is what good music is supposed to do to you. If it doesn't, then it is more or less a noisy waste of time. Jennifer Terran makes beautiful music, and will not waste your time.

This album just keeps getting better the more I listen to it. As a long time lover and supporter of independent music, I really appreciate the message Jennifer sends with this one. Music is essential, to create it, to hear it, to live. I would like to add that the reviewer that said Jennifer's music could bring you to tears was not exaggerating. The first time I heard The Painter I did indeed find myself crying. I've heard a lot of voices...none can touch the sheer beauty of Jennifer's. Outstanding.
